Durham-Duplex had an exciting time exhibiting at the PPMA exhibition at the NEC on 28-30th September 2021.   This event was co-located with Interplas, Medtech and TCT3Sixty giving a great industrial showcase to the broad range of the Company’s cutting applications for all industry sectors and particularly the packaging, food processing and plastics side of manufacturing.  Being a Sheffield manufacturer we understand the importance of national and local supply chains and so the presence of our area sales managers at the PPMA show meant we were able to meet customers old and new from across the UK and Ireland.  As Paul Bottomley, UK sales Director says “PPMA is a great show and we know that it is the customer service and delivery of of high quality parts that marks us out from the rest and keeps customers happy and their machines working smoothly.  We enjoyed seeing friends and customers alike on our stand at PPMA as it had been a long 2 years away from the NEC and the buzz of doing a packaging and processing show.”  If you missed the show but need some support with your cutting edge requirements, wherever you are based in UK and Ireland, then contact Sales on sales@durham-duplex.co.uk or call +44114 243 2313

Proper maintenance and storage of Durham-Duplex blades is essential to ensure safety and maximise blade lifespan. Here are a few key tips:

Clean after use: Remove any debris, product residue, or moisture after each use. For industrial settings, follow the appropriate cleaning protocol depending on the material being cut (especially in food or medical industries).

Dry thoroughly: Ensure the blades are completely dry before storage to prevent corrosion or rusting—especially important for carbon steel blades.

Store safely: Use the original packaging or a designated dry, secure container. For safety knives, always retract the blade after use.

Regular inspection: Periodically check for signs of wear, dullness, or damage. Replace blades at the first signs of reduced performance to maintain precision and avoid machine stress or product damage.

Durham-Duplex also offers blade handling tools and dispensers to improve safe usage in industrial environments.
