FACHPACK is a central meeting place for the European packaging industry and manufacturers utilising packaging machinery. The event has been held in Nuremberg for over 40 years and provides a comprehensive insight into all aspects of the industry. Sections include product packaging for industrial and consumer goods, packaging aids and packaging materials, but also for packaging production, packaging technology, logistics and packaging systems or packaging printing. Its a target rich environment for a UK knife manufacturer like Durham-Duplex and proved to be a great opportunity to see both existing customers but also reinforce connections with those we met at Interpack to move their dial from being interested to customer.

Stepping away from the usual venues like Koln and Dusseldorf brings an interesting new set of industry contacts but all with cutting edge requirements that we can satisfy easily as a manufacturer with warehousing in the single market. We see an appetite for short supply chains and control of where items are made is more important now than in previous years where ‘cheap’ has now changed to ‘best value’ and our properly made knives utilising EU steel works as sustainability increasingly includes robust supply chains and value optimisation.”
