IFFA 2019

Durham-Duplex had a very exciting IFFA 2019 and the show was the perfect opportunity to highlight Accutec Blades range of Personna skinner blades as well as DD’s own range of knives for meat processing and packaging. Visitors had the opportunity to discus their requirements with both the Durham-Duplex and Accutec Blades teams on the stand through out the show.

As European Sales Manager David Piper says “We find that exhibiting at the big German shows, especially those that only happen every 3 years, pay dividend compared to trying to just walk the show on a visitors pass as we also get to meet many people drawn in by the quality of our products on the stand. The reputation of Personna’s Skinner blades across the industry for high quality skinner blades is well earned and people always like to stop and discuss supply at the booth. We were also delighted to be joined by our American colleagues from Accutec Blades which adds to our ability to work the stand and the show to meet existing and new customers.” As you can see from the photos David had a good time in Frankfurt

Proper maintenance and storage of Durham-Duplex blades is essential to ensure safety and maximise blade lifespan. Here are a few key tips:

Clean after use: Remove any debris, product residue, or moisture after each use. For industrial settings, follow the appropriate cleaning protocol depending on the material being cut (especially in food or medical industries).

Dry thoroughly: Ensure the blades are completely dry before storage to prevent corrosion or rusting—especially important for carbon steel blades.

Store safely: Use the original packaging or a designated dry, secure container. For safety knives, always retract the blade after use.

Regular inspection: Periodically check for signs of wear, dullness, or damage. Replace blades at the first signs of reduced performance to maintain precision and avoid machine stress or product damage.

Durham-Duplex also offers blade handling tools and dispensers to improve safe usage in industrial environments.
